A History of Excellence
In 1946, Mr. Tuck founded Parks Trophy & Fine Jewelry. It thrived as Texarkana’s place to purchase trophies, awards, and beautiful shiny tokens of love and commitment. In 1972 Mr. Tuck sold the business to Bill Mulvany who had a passion for the jewelry side of the business, knowing just how meaningful the jewelry buying experience can be. Bill worked many decades to establish a strong foundation and close rapport with the residents of Texarkana and the surrounding cities. People came from hundreds of miles away to successfully find the most unique, incredibly special, and finest quality new and heirloom pieces.
In 1976, Mr. Mulvany narrowed the business focus and established Parks Diamond Jewelers, moving the storefront to a new location on the East Side of Broad Street in downtown Texarkana. Very quickly it became one of Texarkana’s most trusted, family-owned, full-service jewelry stores. His daughter Diane joined him in selling class rings on Saturdays and after school in 1976. She knew she wanted to follow in her Dad’s footsteps so after college Diane earned her Graduate Gemology degree to add more services and education for the customers she loved. In 1998 his granddaughter Brittanie began working in the jewelry store helping to hand-select diamonds and jewelry for the customers we call family. For close to 30 years, Parks Diamond Jewelers thrived in the beloved downtown area, but in early 2002 with the advent of growth near Richmond Road, Mr. Mulvany moved the store onto Kennedy Lane. This made the store more accessible for Arklatex’s jewelry needs. For over twenty years, the family team worked tirelessly to educate, serve, design, and meet the jewelry demands of the Texarkana community.
